The LORD said to Moses, “See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship,  to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, for work in every craft.  And behold, I have appointed with him Oholiab, the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and I have given to all able men ability, that they may make all that I have commanded you:  the tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is thereon, and all the furnishings of the tent,    Exodus 31:1-7

This blog is dedicated to the hundreds of B4T (business for transformation) workers serving among the unreached.  Like Bezalel we are using the gifts and skills God has given us to make a difference in this world for Jesus.  As a SME owner and B4T consultant, each week I will attempt to share the ideas and experiences the Master is giving me in my own life and work, and others I meet as I consult with B4Ters around the globe.

What is business for transformation?
B4T is wholly committed to glorifying God – each of us He has “called by name”, our lives and work begin and end with God.
B4T is God’s Spirit-filled work – Bez is “filled with the Spirit of God”.
B4T is excellent work – we are  people of “ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship”.
B4T is God’s work – “behold I have appointed …”
B4T is leadership – we see in Exodus 36:1 Bez recruits others with abilities and intelligence to work with him.
B4T is entrepreneurial – Bez is building something that has never been made before.
B4T is obedient – Bez “made all that God commanded” (Exodus 38:22) he follows the directions of the Lord in doing the work.
B4T is worshipping God – Bez’s assignment is to build the tent of meeting; view our own jobs as doing the exact same thing, building a temple, places of worship for God to be uplifted.
B4T – draws others to God – the tent of meeting drew people to worship and seek refuge in God (Leviticus 9:5 Numbers 10:3)

As you go to the office, the field, the classroom, wherever your place of work this week; remember your business, your life, is a place of worship to transform both yourself and others around you for God’s glory.
