I was asked, “Do you know who’s the richest man in the world?” When I replied, “Yes, I know him personally,” my friend looked at me surprised, and exclaimed. “You know Bill Gates!” To which I related, “Bill’s the second richest man in the world, the richest man in the world is Jesus.”

I’ve talked with several people this month who are discouraged.  Life, especially doing business, is as Jesus promised – full of tribulations. (John 16:33) Yet, often because our view of Jesus is so small, we trust Him only as far as we can see. We only ask for what we can obtain ourselves. We only desire what we feel. We do not recognize the supernatural around us. We do not draw on His power within us. Our actions reflect that we do not believe Jesus possesses all knowledge, and all things. We only believe what we can see Him doing.

Jesus tells us that if we had the faith of a mustard seed, we could move mountains. Jesus was rich. But He chose to deny Himself of His personal riches to become a man to model for us the way to heaven, to show us what godliness looks like, to reveal to us His word and His ways.

In today’s world, it seems much easier to turn to Google than to Jesus for our answers. But He is with us, ready to reply, ready to supply – if we only trust Him.

Jesus.

He not only owns all the animals in the forest and the cattle on a thousand hills, but He created the stars, the moon, the seas. He owns everything. He knows everything. He is the richest man in the world. Trust Him.
