O that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men.Psalm 107:8

As we celebrate THANKSGIVING, let us focus on the Father and not on the food or even the fellowship.

May we strive to complain less and praise Him more.

May we find our happiness in His works and His ways and not in this world.

May we daily praise God for His common mercies—common as we frequently call them, and yet so priceless, to each of us.

May we bless God for the eyes with which we behold the sun, for the health and strength to walk about.

May we thank Him for the clothes we wear, as well as the food we eat.

May we exalt Him for Himself, as well as for our liberties, friends and family.

Take time to praise Him, as everything we have received comes by grace from his bounteous hand. We deserve little, yet we are most generously endowed. There used to be a commercial that said, “If you’ve got it, a truck brought it.” That may be true, but perhaps we should be saying, “If you’ve got it, God brought it.”

As children of the living God, may we this week, month, this year, this lifetime, unceasingly give thanks to the Lord our Redeemer.

Praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works.
