In operations management, just-in-time delivery is enabled by modern statistical techniques, real-time data, and high-quality tracking devices. The more that is known about demand, the better projections can be given for delivery. There are somewhat simple calculations that can be made if various parameters are known to ensure that inventory holding costs are at a minimum while also minimizing lost potential sales and maximizing revenue.

JIT Grace

As it is with business, so it is with God (except He does all the calculation legwork for us). When we are in need of grace, it rarely comes early and it never arrives late. It is always just-in-time, and it is always exactly what we need. Not only does God promise to complete in us the good work He began (Philippians 1:6), but He has provided a rushing river of grace always moving toward us at the right pace to refresh us in our time of greatest need. The greater the temptation or trial, the greater the promised grace. The same holds true with His mercy.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23).

Future Grace

When struggling, we need to build in the habit of immediately asking, “LORD what are you trying to teach me?” My mentor taught me this years ago, and it is my best mechanism by which to snap out of my tunnel vision and bring forward the future grace of God.

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen (Philippians 4:19).
