His grace is SO GOOD. But you already knew that right? Look at Zechariah in Luke 1. The whole multitude was praying outside during the hour of incense. It’s almost certainly the case that they were praying for the redemption of Israel as was Zechariah inside. Gabriel told him that has prayer had been heard, which had the double meaning of “your prayer you stopped praying XX years ago about having a child” and “your prayer for the redemption of Israel.” Both of his prayers received the same answer.

As you look back over your life, think about this: Zechariah and Elizabeth were old when John was born. It’s likely they wouldn’t have lived long enough to see the fruit of their lives of prayer and righteousness and blameless living. They spent all those years being faithful (besides the likely bitterness that Zechariah let into his heart after God didn’t answer his prayer for probably 20 years), and all they had to show for their lives was this child who they didn’t survive to see grow up and fulfill his calling.

If that’s all God wanted to use you for in a macro sense, would that be enough for you?
